About the Role

Microsoft is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Public Affairs Communications Team in managing communications for cybersecurity policy, threat intelligence, influence operations intelligence, and large portions of the company's work to protect the world from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in business strategy planning and executive counsel to drive the company's mission and goals.
  • Monitor and respond to the geopolitical, threat intelligence, political, and influence operations environments to stay ahead of emerging issues.
  • Guide teams to monitor, track, and analyze the impact of our work and messaging for a given issue, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee the development and execution of stories in fresh ways that generate positive perceptions towards Microsoft, leveraging the company's expertise and thought leadership.
  • Manage an internal team through empowerment and accountability, modeling, coaching, and caring for their growth and development.
  • Lead and direct agency teams, managing decisions in making in determining agency partnership needs and empowering agency teams for success.
  • Embody Microsoft's values and operate with the utmost integrity, upholding the company's reputation and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field, and 6+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related field.
  • 1+ year(s) of people management experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in communications for policy or corporate communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage complex issues in an incredibly fast-changing environment.
  • Direct and significant experience working with reporters proactively and reactively.
  • Ability to provide strategic communications counsel to executives.
  • Understanding of evolving communications trends like social and digital media.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across complex cross-group organizations.
  • Proven track record for new and innovative storytelling with ability to take risks.
  • Experience in navigating communications on cybersecurity, influence, or public policy topics.
  • Deep understanding of geopolitics globally and domestic politics in large markets.

Compensation and Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Find additional benefits and pay information here.
