Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team at Mercy Health System. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and families
  • Manage front desk operations, including scheduling, registration, and cash handling
  • Answer and direct phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide information to patients and families
  • Process patient registration, including verifying demographic information and insurance coverage
  • Collect and process patient payments, including co-payments and self-pay obligations
  • Prepare and distribute patient records and documents
  • Assist with Epic Scheduling and Registration, including loading and verifying patient demographics and insurance coverage
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous medical reception or administrative experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Epic Scheduling and Registration
Working Conditions

This is a medium work exerting 10 to 25 lbs of force or lifting occasionally. The employee is frequently required to sit, handle, finger, feel, reach, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision and ability to adjust focus and occasional distance vision.
