Role Responsibilities
Establish strategies for Application Performance Monitoring and Optimization within the production environment.
Address incidents and enhance the platform based on user feedback, tracking the reduction of incidents over time.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in batch production scheduling and processes.
Capable of crafting and executing queries on big data platforms and relational databases to identify process issues or conduct mass updates, preferred.
Handle ad hoc requests from users, including data research, file manipulation, and process issue investigation.
Adopt a comprehensive approach to problem-solving, connecting various elements during production events to optimize recovery time.
Participate in and enhance the entire service lifecycle—from design and deployment to operation and refinement.
Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide constructive feedback to development teams regarding operational gaps or resilience issues.
Assist services prior to their launch through system design consulting, capacity planning, and review processes.
Support the application CI/CD pipeline for software promotion into higher environments through validation and operational gating, leading in DevOps automation and best practices.
Maintain services post-launch by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
Sustainably scale systems through automation and advocate for changes that enhance reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate with a global team across various tech hubs and time zones.
Share knowledge and articulate processes and procedures effectively to others.
Qualifications
Proficient in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Nifi, Impala).Experienced in data analysis, observability, ingestion, and integration.
5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, infrastructure, DataOps, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering.
5+ years of experience managing Big Data production systems.
1+ years of hands-on experience with industry-standard CI/CD tools such as Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
Knowledgeable in architecting and implementing data governance processes and tools (data catalogs, lineage tools, role-based access control).
Strong understanding of SQL fundamentals.
Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
Systematic problem-solving abilities combined with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset.
Capable of debugging and optimizing code while automating routine tasks.
Ability to support various stakeholders and handle challenging situations with urgency.
Enthusiastic about change and pushing the limits of automation capabilities.
Experience collaborating across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
Proven experience in designing and implementing effective CI/CD workflows that transition code from development to production with high quality and minimal manual intervention.
Good understanding of Change Management and Release Management in software development.
