Role Summary:
We are seeking an Engineering Supervisor to manage and direct all engineering functions within our manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in enhancing the performance of our production and distribution operations, collaborating closely with the operational teams to ensure optimal efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Oversight: Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), 3D models, CAM programs, work instructions, Standard Times, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Quality Assurance Audits: Review and refine quality control processes, ensuring that all products consistently align with customer expectations.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Spearhead projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing practices, with a focus on safety, quality, cost management, capacity, and space utilization.
- Technical Assistance: Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for all production departments to facilitate seamless operations.
- New Product Development: Supervise the design and introduction of new products, including the structural design of components, tools, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing methodologies.
- Material Evaluation: Assess raw materials to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards.
- Facility Layout Management: Oversee the design and compliance of facility layouts in collaboration with external consultants.
- Process Trials: Organize and execute trials for new processes and materials, evaluating their performance against established benchmarks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent vocational/technical training.
- A minimum of three years of experience in production manufacturing, emphasizing efficiency and methodologies, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of fiberglass manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, CAD (Solid Edge or SolidWorks preferred), and ERP systems (Business Central Dynamics preferred).
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing or supervising teams.
