Job Overview

Explore Industries is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineering Lead to oversee all manufacturing engineering activities. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing the performance of our manufacturing and distribution center, working closely with the company's operational team to ensure efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation Management: Create, revise, and maintain all manufacturing documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), 3D models, CAM programs, work instructions, Standard Times, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Quality Process Auditing: Audit and update quality control processes, including control plans and material usage metering equipment, to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing practices, focusing on improving safety, quality, cost control, overall capacity, and floor space utilization.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and problem-solving assistance to all production departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • New Product Design: Oversee the design process for new product introductions, including the structural design of parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Raw Material Assessment: Evaluate raw materials to ensure they meet safety, environmental, and technical standards.
  • Facility Layout Maintenance: Maintain the design of each facility's property layout and ensure compliance with operational permits, in collaboration with our consultant.
  • Process and Material Trials: Organize and implement trials for new processes and raw materials, analyzing their performance against established standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent vocational/technical training.
  • At least three (3) years of production manufacturing experience focused on efficiency and methods, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the fiberglass manufacturing process.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, CAD (Solid Edge or SolidWorks preferred), and ERP systems (Business Central Dynamics preferred).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, managers, and the public.
  • Experience in team management or supervision.
