What role will you play in our mission?


Reporting to the CFO of Covetrus and collaborating closely with the CRO (Chief Revenue Officer) and CMO (Chief Marketing Officer), you will lead the financial planning and analysis function for the organization, serving as a steward of financial insights for the commercial sector.

You will execute this role with a high level of professionalism and independence while ensuring effective and proactive communication with the executive leadership team.


As a privately held and PE-backed organization with an ambitious growth strategy, Covetrus requires robust financial collaboration, planning, and support across all business areas.

You will be instrumental in developing and executing financial strategies that align with the company's growth, marketing, and profitability objectives.

Your contributions will provide essential financial trends and insights that directly influence the future trajectory of Covetrus in the animal health sector.


Primary Responsibilities:

Driving Financial Excellence :

As a business partner to the CRO and CMO, you will be the primary contact for financial inquiries and play a crucial role in forecasting revenue and product-level profitability.

You will collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and forecasting deliver both short-term and long-term perspectives on our business trajectory.

This is a highly visible position that necessitates extensive cross-functional collaboration and the application of sound judgment to alert the CEO, CFO, and ELT regarding emerging trends.


Creating Accurate and Achievable Financial Forecasts : Collaborate with the leadership teams of the CRO and CMO to forecast and enhance the financial outcomes of the commercial teams.

Provide insights based on thorough financial analysis and projections.

Develop and refine analyses that assess the financial impact of trade and marketing expenditures, offering insights on gross profit performance.

Work closely with the business team to identify and quantify necessary corrective actions to ensure the achievement of business and financial objectives.

Participate in high-level meetings to capture key plans for future growth.


Monthly Operating Reviews and Leadership Meetings – Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics, highlighting trends and analyzing variances to budget and forecast.

You will lead monthly meetings with key members of the commercial team, sharing insights on performance and developing detailed annual budgets and recurring forecasts with the team.

You will assist in preparing materials for monthly operating reviews, town halls, and other executive leadership meetings.


Shaping Long-Term Strategic and Financial Planning - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights that drive process improvements and efficiencies, informing the ELT for long-range planning.

Proactive & Insightful Partnership - Oversee special projects and initiatives as necessary. Drive innovation in processes, systems, and technology to facilitate the company's growth in this next phase.

Qualifications and Competencies :

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in a high-growth technology or consumer product company, ideally in a progressive divisional or corporate head of FP&A roles.

A proven history of success in a leadership capacity. Experience in rapid, large-scale growth is preferred.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.

Professional Maturity:
Ability to demonstrate professional maturity and possess a comprehensive understanding of the company's business, policies, and practices. Ability to uphold safety standards while actively participating in continuous process improvement.

Analytical, Organizational, and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to plan, set targets, model, and forecast accurately, maintaining awareness of the company's position relative to internal models/targets.

However, the pay range for this position is as follows.

$94, $176,330.00
