Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Mechanical Superintendent include:

  • Overseeing the physical construction activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications, local and national building regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to maintain comprehensive reports on project delays, alternative solutions, and operational adjustments.
  • Resolving conflicts on-site while demonstrating leadership and motivational skills.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors, while promoting teamwork among Project Managers and field personnel.
  • Ensuring quality assurance and control for all aspects of the project scope and schedule.
  • Participating in all project inspections.
  • Managing the MSS tool tracking program for assigned projects and personnel.
  • Forecasting labor and equipment needs for projects.
  • Organizing the workforce to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
  • Interpreting complex blueprints and equipment installation guides.
  • Addressing complex job-related challenges and proposing solutions to the Project Team and/or Field Operations Manager.
  • Acting as a liaison with client representatives.
  • Monitoring project progress and providing weekly updates to the Field Operations Manager and Project Managers.
  • Ensuring safety standards are upheld on-site and assisting the safety manager in maintaining a secure work environment.
  • Coordinating daily operations with project managers.
  • Overseeing subcontractor and vendor activities, ensuring quality and accuracy in all work performed.
  • Identifying and reporting issues to the Project Manager, documenting any on-site activities that may hinder progress or compliance.
  • Conducting interviews and selecting field staff for the project.
  • Attending all project-related meetings.
  • Facilitating safety discussions and maintaining attendance records.
  • Conducting performance evaluations for project employees.
  • Executing additional responsibilities as assigned by the company.
Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in managing site logistics and contract operations, particularly in urban settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all construction phases, with experience in various work divisions, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Strong technical and communication abilities are essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • Thorough understanding of project documentation, including blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with BIM coordinated projects.
  • Familiarity with a variety of tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.
