Job Summary:

The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for supporting senior scheduling staff, project teams, and stakeholders with time management and control. This includes developing and updating summary-level and detailed schedules, as well as identifying major milestones, critical approvals, and long-lead procurement items.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update summary-level and detailed schedules
  • Support senior scheduling staff, project teams, and stakeholders with time management and control
  • Identify major milestones, critical approvals, and long-lead procurement items
  • Determine reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussions with task owners and/or teams
  • Develop realistic activity durations based on production rates and available manpower
  • Assign resources (cost, labor, or material) to activities and develop cash flow reports and resource histograms
  • Evaluate critical and near-critical path activity sequences
  • Assess actual progress based on on-site inspections
  • Identify schedule changes and trends
  • Develop earned value reports
  • Suggest corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur
  • Review architect and contractor-prepared schedules
  • Prepare post-construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, plus 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Certification with AACE, PMI, or CMAA is preferred
  • Strong understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) concepts and calculations; strong understanding of earned value concepts, calculations, and rules of credit; proficiency in Primavera scheduling products; and report preparation skills
  • Thorough understanding and utilization of Information Technology in the performance of work, including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project
  • Highly articulate, with a clear and logical approach to problem-solving, and strong choice-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
