Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality health services to students, including assessments, health counseling, and instruction. They will also serve as a liaison between school personnel, families, healthcare professionals, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to students using professional assessment skills and established school health protocols.
  • Assess student problems, communicate with parents, and ensure appropriate referrals and follow-up as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and evaluate outcomes of skilled and direct nursing care.
  • Serve as a health advocate for students and maintain student advocacy by assisting in the protection and well-being of students.
  • Ensure that medications are administered to students according to district policy and procedures.
  • Establish and implement effective procedures for carrying out mandatory screening programs.
  • Participate in the development of campus health education curriculum and educate staff on health-related topics.
  • Collaborate closely with campus principal and other staff to ensure a healthy school environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
  • Valid CPR certification within the past 2 years.
  • Valid Vision, Hearing, Acanthosis Nigricans, and Spinal Screening certification within the last 5 years.
  • At least 3 years' experience in nursing.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, and families. They will be required to maintain emotional control under stress and work prolonged or irregular hours as needed.
