Job Overview

The Cafeteria Monitor is responsible for ensuring a safe and orderly environment for elementary students during lunch and playground activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with students and staff to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Supervise student behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent conflicts or disruptions.
  • Assist students with lunchtime needs, such as opening food containers or providing utensils.
  • Clean up the cafeteria tables and surrounding areas as directed.
  • Supervise playground activities after lunch and ensure student safety.
  • Refer any issues or concerns to the principal or assistant principal.
  • Attend required in-services and training sessions.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
