The Animal Models Division at Scripps Research is seeking a dedicated Research Technician II. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting behavioral and physiological assessments on mice and rats, performing dissections, and administering compounds. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate with minimal supervision while executing a variety of standard laboratory techniques and procedures, adapting methods as necessary.
- Analyze and interpret experimental results, troubleshooting and refining procedures as needed.
- Assist in the design of experiments to fulfill specific segments of broader research objectives.
- Provide routine maintenance for laboratory equipment and offer guidance or training to colleagues as required.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience; candidates with a master’s degree should have at least 2 years of experience.
Work Environment:
- This role is conducted in a laboratory or vivarium setting.
- Specific essential functions will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $64,480 and $75,000 annually, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:
