Job Summary

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health – Cancer Epidemiology is seeking a seasoned professional to join a busy and expanding research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of funded research and training projects, including budget management, financial reporting, and contract preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and execution of funded research and training projects, including budget management, financial reporting, and contract preparation.
  • Manage budgets, track expenditures, and maintain cost centers and other allocations.
  • Prepare and distribute study-related requests, organize study meetings, and maintain records of votes and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate studies-related meetings, including PI meetings, research working groups, and External Advisory Board Committee.
  • Prepare an annual progress report and an annual directory for the study site as required.
  • Coordinate the regular publication of summary reports and serve as an information resource to collaborators, the university, and external figures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of expertise.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the overall responsibility for program direction, coordination, and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of software programs, including Excel, Access, Kuali, Quantum Financials, Taleo, and other standard desktop software.
  • Knowledge of best practices in research administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to function in a team and collaborative environment with staff, faculty, students, and an extended network of professionals.
