ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATORY SPECIALIST

Our client, a governmental agency, is dedicated to managing local environmental regulations. The primary focus of this position is to ensure adherence to wastewater management standards as dictated by state, federal, and local laws.

They are currently in search of a WASTEWATER COMPLIANCE MANAGER to support their operations.

This role is a long-term, direct-hire position that offers comprehensive benefits, including a competitive 401K plan.

Compensation for this position ranges from $80K to $104K, based on experience. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, averaging 40 hours per week. This position is fully on-site and may involve limited travel.

*RELEVANT EXPERIENCE in WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT IS MANDATORY*

Key Responsibilities of the WASTEWATER COMPLIANCE MANAGER:

Report Management: Ensure the timely submission of all mandatory environmental documentation (state, federal, local). Conduct emissions assessments and review new regulations for applicability to the facility.

Compliance Oversight: Monitor and communicate compliance activities for industrial clients. Maintain a calendar of compliance deadlines.

Sampling and Records Management: Organize sampling events, maintain compliance documentation, and supervise laboratory testing and permit submissions. Communicate regulatory requirements and compliance status to relevant personnel.

Permit Management: Oversee and manage permit expiration timelines. Inform stakeholders of expiring permits and assist with renewal processes.

Permit Evaluation: Evaluate proposed changes in influent to ensure compliance with existing permits. Provide recommendations to the Facility Manager.

Laboratory Data Review: Analyze laboratory and quality assurance/control data. Address any discrepancies with the Lab Manager and notify relevant personnel of compliance issues.

Training and Representation: Review waste profiles, participate in annual training, and represent the organization at regulatory meetings and conferences.

Emergency Response Coordination: Address critical situations, maintain accurate contact information, and collaborate with management and environmental staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree; REQUIRED
  • 5+ years of experience in WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT; REQUIRED
  • Familiarity with AIR and WATER PERMITS; REQUIRED
