Hartford Hospital is a comprehensive 867-bed academic medical center.

  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of neurocritical care professionals, advanced practice providers, certified neurocritical care nurses, and residents in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.
  • Our facility features a 23-bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit, a nine-bed Neuro Step Down Unit, and an 18-bed Neuroscience patient-care floor.
  • We take pride in our unique Neurorecovery Clinic, which offers follow-up care.
  • Our institution performs approximately 1,750 neurosurgeries annually, supported by our LIFE STAR air ambulance service operating within a 150-mile radius.
  • The Neurovascular Department provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing strokes and aneurysms, utilizing both endovascular and intracranial surgical techniques.
  • Hartford Hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Joint Commission, a recipient of the Stroke Gold Plus achievement award, and operates a level one trauma center. Furthermore, it has been recognized on the Leapfrog A honor roll.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for board-certified or board-eligible neurologists with fellowship training in neurocritical care medicine. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative practitioner eager to thrive in a dynamic environment with a diverse patient population and a commitment to learning from colleagues across various medical specialties.
