Position Overview

Customer Sales & Service Representative I, Front Counter (Non-Retail)

Location: Iowa City, IA - (CC) Capital

Working Hours: 9:30AM-6:30PM Mon.-Fri. Rotating Every 3rd Sat. 9AM-12PM

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver an exceptional in-person customer experience by addressing customer needs and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Provide direct support to all customers in alignment with Mediacom's policies and procedures.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Engage with customers face-to-face to resolve inquiries and issues related to billing, services, and products.
  2. Apply appropriate sales and retention strategies to effectively manage customer requests for service modifications.
  3. Diagnose basic service-related issues and arrange on-site service appointments as necessary.
  4. Process customer payments, maintain an accurate cash drawer, and execute customer account adjustments.
  5. Manage the issuance and return of equipment to customers.
  6. Ensure compliance with inventory control policies regarding customer site equipment.
  7. Exhibit patience and professionalism in customer interactions, clearly explaining all aspects of billing, products, and services available.
  8. Maintain a tidy personal and work environment, demonstrating respectful and responsible behavior.
  9. Attendance is essential.
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in retail and/or consumer sales is required.
  • Preferred experience includes 3 or more years in customer service and cash handling/reconciliation.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient cash handling skills.
  • A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record may be necessary for certain locations.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills are essential.
  • Sales aptitude and a commitment to achieving sales targets.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other regional sites.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
