Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients with complex medical and emotional needs, demonstrating compassion and the ability to manage challenging behaviors in both individual and group settings.
  • Accurately document medical and behavioral interactions in health record management systems.
  • Administer and process consent forms and patient questionnaires as required.
  • Assist healthcare providers in drafting and transferring orders.
  • Transfer imaging data from partner portals into health record management systems.
  • Prepare patient charts in advance of medical and behavioral appointments.
  • Collect and record vital signs as part of patient assessments.
  • Conduct urine drug screenings and document results, assisting providers with interpretation and confirmation processes as necessary.
  • Review the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) report with healthcare providers.
  • Facilitate referrals to external providers and community health resources as directed.
  • Document injection consents and assist with the administration of injections.
  • Provide patient support within the clinic, including scheduling and appointment confirmations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in exam rooms, notifying supervisors when supplies are low.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local legal and professional regulations.
  • Perform flow coordination duties as assigned.
  • Complete data entry and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as required for effective operations.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Medical Scribe certification is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include regular sitting, hand manipulation, and effective communication. The employee must be able to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This position operates in a high to moderate noise level environment.
