Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician

We are seeking a Registered Behavior Technician to join our team at Developmental Pathways, Inc.

About the Role:

The Registered Behavior Technician will provide in-home one-to-one support for children and adolescents with Autism or other developmental disabilities. Under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will implement programs, collect data, and work with your supervisor to develop a tailored plan for each child or adolescent.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute 1:1 behavior plans for children and adolescents with autism in their homes.
  • Provide parent training to expand the client's advancement opportunities.
  • Grow quickly with ongoing support and supervision from BCBA level staff.
  • Work a part-time schedule based on client and family availability.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with clients and families.

Requirements:
  • RBT Certification.
  • Valid CA driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass an FBI/DOJ clearance and background check.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Desire to work with young children with behavioral challenges.
  • Experience with and comfort playing with children.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual applicants highly preferred. Educational or work experience in areas such as babysitting, childcare, elementary education, teaching, classroom aid, paraprofessional, special education, early intervention, day care, preschool, head start, camp counselor, teacher, pediatric healthcare professional, etc.

What is ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a branch of psychology that uses a scientific data-driven approach to improve socially significant behaviors. The goals of ABA include reducing challenging behaviors, increasing socially significant behaviors, and developing or improving activities of daily living (ADLs).

What is Autism?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that manifests during the first three years of life and will last the entire life cycle. The fundamental symptoms of autism are persistent deficiencies in communication and social interaction and restrictive and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities.
