Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Technician Lead to join our team at HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke's. As a Sterile Processing Technician Lead, you will be responsible for the daily operations and workflow of your shift, ensuring that all surgical instruments are properly sterilized and prepared for use in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and supervise the work of other technicians in the department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist the SPD manager in preparing reports and ordering supplies, ensuring that the department is well-stocked and equipped to meet the needs of the operating room.
  • Provide education and training to other technicians on sterilization, instrumentation, and equipment, ensuring that all staff members are knowledgeable and competent in their roles.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload to ensure that all deadlines are met and that the department is running smoothly.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including the operating room and anesthesia, to ensure that all surgical instruments are properly prepared and available for use.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred.
  • Certification as a Central Sterile Processing Technician required (IAHCSMM or CBSPD).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year minimum experience as an Instrument Room or Operating Room Technician.
  • One (1) year as a lead technician.
