Job Summary

Denver Health is seeking a highly skilled Lead Medical Assistant to join our team. As a critical member of the healthcare team, the Lead Medical Assistant will perform clinical and administrative duties that create a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Peer Resource and Training: Coordinate orientation and assist with precepting new Medical Assistants. Provide guidance to assigned MA's related to the most effective work activities, strategic metrics, and improvement.
  • Patient Intake and Discharge: Greets patients and verifies patient information, completes patient rooming tasks according to guidelines and standard work. Provides written after visit summary, and medication/vaccine information.
  • Patient Preparation: Accompanies patients to examine rooms, confirms purpose of visit, and instructs patient on how to prepare for visit; helps patients position themselves for the examination and/or treatment, completes rooming questions and screenings appropriate for patient according to standard work and guidelines.
  • In-room Assistance and Laboratory Testing: Assists provider during examinations including but not limited to chaperoning, managing and maintaining sterile field, passing instruments and devices, giving injections, or removing sutures.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program in Medical Assisting or an accredited program of Licensed Practical Nursing with an active LPN license required.
  • 1-3 years Medical Assistant direct patient care experience in an outpatient setting Required.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required.
