Job Title: Project Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Atlas. As a key member of our geotechnical engineering division, you will be responsible for leading geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for various projects, including residential and commercial buildings, bridges, highways, railways, airports, pipelines, and levees/basins.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects, resources, and staff while providing expert technical guidance in geotechnical engineering.
  • Lead geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for buildings and infrastructure projects.
  • Direct and supervise subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, geotechnical data interpretation, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring programs.
  • Supervise and lead geotechnical design and analysis for shallow and deep foundations, earthworks recommendations, slope stability and seepage analyses, lateral earth pressure calculations, and other pertinent analyses.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and governmental personnel to ensure comprehensive geotechnical concerns are addressed.
  • Mentor and train junior geotechnical engineers and foster their professional development.
  • Provide support for business development activities by fostering and maintaining long-term client relationships and developing a client base for providing high-level geotechnical engineering services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with Geotechnical Engineer License or ability to obtain.
  • Local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
  • Extensive geotechnical background including a strong fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrology.
