Job Summary

Penn State Health is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join our team in Hershey, PA. As a Medical Lab Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues. You will identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, analyze chemical content of fluids, and cross match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues
  • Identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms
  • Analyze chemical content of fluids
  • Cross match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation
  • Aseptically prepare cells for use in cellular therapies
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program
  • Medical Lab Technician Certification through ASCP, AMT, ACHI or an equivalent certification agency
  • Proof of eligibility to sit for an applicable certification exam
