Job Summary:

Cone Health is seeking a skilled Triage Specialist - Behavioral Health to join our team. As a Triage Specialist, you will play a critical role in assessing patients who present with behavioral needs and identifying potential issues that may arise due to their condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients in a timely manner to identify potential issues that may arise due to their condition and flag to the correct party to prevent treatment that could adversely affect the patient.
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments to determine the level of care that best fits the patient.
  • Consult with physicians in the evaluation of psychiatric and/or substance abuse patients to make determinations about care and treatment that are in the best interest of the patient.
  • Document and log patient interactions to assist physicians and other clinical staff in determining the best course of action or in case a provider needs to reference this information.
  • Communicate with the patient and clinical staff effectively to build a feeling of understanding and trust in order to best get and provide information.

Requirements:

  • Master's in Counseling or a related field
  • 1 year experience in Healthcare (Psychiatry preferred)
  • North Carolina provisional license in one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or licensed psychologist
