Position Overview

Alstef Group is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team.

Role Summary:

This role involves ensuring that mechanical and electrical system designs align with customer specifications. The Project Engineer will coordinate activities within the engineering team for designated projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering project team in producing design documentation (drawings) and monitor progress and status.
  • Serve as the primary engineering representative on the project team, providing updates to the project manager and engineering manager.
  • Generate engineering documentation, including detailed engineering drawings, layout designs, and specifications for equipment and system functionality.
  • Oversee document control for project drawings prior to their release.
  • Facilitate design review meetings.
  • Examine engineering documents for precision and compliance with requirements.
  • Support the sales team by creating concepts for customer proposals, including system design, preliminary layout drawings, pricing, and written responses to proposal needs.
  • Issue purchase requisitions and work orders for engineered items to the materials team.
  • Conduct site surveys for conveyor integration projects.
  • Address inquiries from other departments regarding engineering documentation.
  • Compile spare parts lists as part of the scope of work and identify spare parts for engineered items.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in material handling or industrial automation system integration projects is essential.
  • Experience in customer interfacing.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor software.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, mechanical engineering, automation, and industrial controls.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and lead an engineering team.
  • Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
