Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Solution Design Engineer to join our Quakertown, PA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of electrical and lower-level controls design of automated material handling systems to meet customer requirements as part of the Tendering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop low-level controls schemes for material handling and automation solutions based on customer needs.
  • Review customer technical specifications and develop solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Report current design status to tendering manager and tender coordinator.
  • Assist with the development of proposal documents when necessary.
  • Create engineering documentation, including but not limited to, controls layout drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct design review meetings with tendering team, engineers, and third parties to review progress and challenges of proposed solutions.
  • Assist with the cost development of integrated items in a designed solution, including but not limited to, sensors, PLCs, control panels, and labor.
  • Conduct site surveys, as required, to identify existing site conditions and existing equipment to design a complete solution.
  • Identify spare parts and create preliminary spare parts lists as required to include costs as part of a tender.
  • Gather and provide lead times for integrated equipment to aid in the development of project schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience with customer interface.
  • 3-5 years of experience from material handling and/or with industrial automation system integration projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Solid understanding of system integration, electrical engineering, automation, and industrial controls.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to travel up to 25%.
