Position Overview:

The Thermoforming Process Technician plays a crucial role in collaborating with the process team leader to address ongoing challenges, facilitating the setup of production lines, and partnering with corporate engineers on new product initiatives and research and development trials. This position also involves maintaining precise and current process documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing process capabilities on the production floor.
  • Contribute insights to new product development teams as needed and actively engage in job start-ups.
  • Implement established programs to continuously improve overall product quality.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of material behavior within the thermoforming process.
  • Assist in the initiation of new equipment with process support.
  • Maintain and update process definition sheets and tracking systems.
  • Utilize basic hand tools to work on equipment.
  • Exhibit a high level of technical proficiency gained through practical experience and on-the-job training.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Technical Competencies:

Training: Demonstrate the ability to create and deliver training as necessary.

Equipment Operation: Operate thermoforming machinery and associated peripherals.

Record Maintenance: Accurately document and maintain required information.

Leadership Skills: Action-oriented, effective communicator, fosters engagement, results-driven, adept at managing complexity, and adaptable to various situations.

Communication and Teamwork:

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate within a cross-functional team.
  • Foster an environment of openness, honesty, trust, and teamwork.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks without compromising effectiveness.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of company-specific products, materials, and production technologies.
  • Understand standard manufacturing business processes.
  • Comprehend the entire process from concept to commercialization.

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Exhibit basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Identify appropriate courses of action efficiently.

Project Management:

  • Provide guidance and support during project introductions with the manufacturing team.
  • Understand the new product development process thoroughly.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree or five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with machinery operation.
  • Proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proficient in computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, ERP systems, etc.).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to visually read various postings and computer screens.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms and warning devices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to establish cause-and-effect relationships in a manufacturing environment.
