Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Palm Bay Hospital. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including explaining the procedure and positioning them correctly.
  • Conduct MRI procedures in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all relevant protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and images, including documentation of any complications or issues that arise.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest MRI technology and techniques, attending training and education sessions as needed.
Requirements
  • Certified and Registered in Radiography or Radiation Therapy by the ARRT, or Certified and Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the ARRT or NMTCB, or Certified and Registered in Sonography by ARRT or in any sonography-related modality by the ARDMS.
  • Must either be Crossed-Trained in MRI or successfully complete a formal education program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging that meets the ARRT's structured education requirement and clinical experience requirement.
  • Advanced ARRT (MRI) examination obtained within two years of hire/transfer.
  • Prior MRI experience preferred.
  • Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
  • Computer-related skills deemed pertinent for optimal technical performance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to report to department within 30 minutes when on call.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout their shift.
  • Able to move, lift, or position patients as required.
  • Able to push wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
  • Dependable and flexible in relation to covering required shifts.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, several times per day.
  • Able to wear lead aprons for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The MRI Technologist must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment, responding to life-threatening situations and multi-tasking as needed.
