Diagnostic Imaging Technician Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technician to join our team at VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic imaging studies under the direction of a veterinarian, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Create and manipulate imaging protocols to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Review patient medical information and prepare patients for procedures, adhering to proper screening and care protocols.
  • Coordinate patient flow through the imaging department, expediting service and ensuring a smooth experience for patients and staff.
  • Train and monitor technical associates on all aspects of MRI equipment, ensuring they are proficient and confident in their abilities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, contacting support specialists when necessary, and maintaining records of equipment failure and notification to management.
  • Consistently follow MRI and radiation safety procedures, reporting any hazards or accidents immediately.
  • Present hospital estimates to clients in a clear and concise manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a credentialed veterinary technician or human imaging technologist.
  • Ability to run MRI's and CT scans, with training provided for those without experience.
  • Strong knowledge of PACS, computer systems, and hospital software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, clients, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and service.
