About the Job

The University of Minnesota is seeking a highly skilled psychologist or neuropsychologist to join our expanding clinical research team specializing in the characterization of neurodevelopment and neurodevelopmental disabilities.

This position is housed within the Center for Neurobehavioral Development at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB), a leading research institution dedicated to advancing our understanding of brain development and function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Behavioral Phenotyping: Oversee and conduct behavioral phenotyping activities within the Center for Neurobehavioral Development, providing consultation and execution on appropriate cognitive and behavioral assessments to describe children and measure their growth.
  • Research and Training: Contribute to or develop research or training programs to support the work at MIDB, including opportunities to collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and educators.
  • Supervision and Training: Provide supervision and training to trainees and staff administering assessments, ensuring the highest level of expertise and quality in our research and clinical practices.
  • Organizational Oversight: Organize and oversee child life services at MIDB, ensuring seamless integration with our research and clinical programs.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Perform evaluations, provide written and oral feedback to families, related providers, and schools regarding test results and recommendations for treatment and educational planning.
  • Training and Consultation: Provide training to faculty, trainees, and research staff on assessment administration and interpretation, as well as consultation to research groups on best practices in assessment.
  • Research Analysis and Dissemination: Contribute to research analysis and dissemination, including writing and contributing to manuscripts, grant proposals, and scientific presentations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Ph.D. or a Psy.D. in clinical psychology, school psychology, or counseling psychology from an APA and/or CPA accredited program, internship training, and minimum 1-year post-doctoral training in pediatric psychology or neuropsychology is required.
  • Licensure: Applicant must be license-eligible in the state of Minnesota.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Strong diagnostic skills required, including extensive experience assessing children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong skills in clinical interviewing and engaging caregivers and families in assessments, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong computer proficiency, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
