Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Program Director, performs a variety of complex clerical duties and exercises a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned work tasks. This position requires detailed and sensitive public contact and/or independent origination of correspondence involving the knowledge and application of detailed regulations, policies, and procedures. Good judgment and the ability to communicate effectively are of primary importance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of complex clerical duties, including data entry, record-keeping, and correspondence.
  • Provides administrative support to the Program Director and other staff members.
  • Develops and implements procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of departmental operations.
  • Provides training and guidance to new staff members.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned work tasks.
  • Good judgment and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications.
  • Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
