Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President, Houston Business Unit Leader to lead and manage multiple project teams in the Houston region. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering exceptional results for clients and generating profit for the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multiple project teams to deliver exceptional results for clients and generate profit for the company.
  • Identify project opportunities on multiple accounts and define strategies needed to win work for the team.
  • Ensure that projects align with the company's risk tolerance and run smoothly from start to finish.
  • Uphold safety as the top priority and monitor the business unit's safety measures and protocols to be OSHA compliant and adverse to emergencies or recordables.
  • Leverage a pipeline of work for new and existing clients both locally and nationally, creating consistent opportunities enterprise-wide.
  • Ensure all risk-related issues are properly documented and communicated and resolve any subcontractor disputes at the business unit level.
  • Ensure proper team and resource allocation by helping to attract and recruit top and diverse talent, supporting career growth and opportunities, and developing a business unit succession plan.
  • Act as the executive sponsor and approver for all pursuits while monitoring subcontractor usage across the company to ensure fair awarding practices and supplier diversity for the business unit.
Requirements
  • Experience in the local Houston market strongly preferred.
  • Software proficiency and ability to adopt software systems such as Procore, scheduling tools (i.e., Microsoft Project, SureTrak, Primavera 6, etc.), Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Bluebeam, and JD Edwards.
  • Experience delivering projects to owners in the Commercial, Municipal, Mixed-use, or Mission Critical sectors valued over $500M.
  • 10 or more years of Business Development experience in the AEC industry within California and/or Nevada.
