Associate Director of Operations and Communications

Job Summary:

United Way of Greater Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Operations and Communications to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing unique engagement experiences, managing vendor networks and internal processes, and implementing strategic plans to increase revenue and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with affinity group strategy leads to support strategic plans and execute engagement experiences and donor stewardship interactions.
  • Execute aspects of engagement and fundraising events, creating best practices and supporting across all team events.
  • Plan and execute a variety of engagement and fundraising events, overseeing the strategic engagement of attendees during the event and beyond.
  • Support affinity group strategy lead management of volunteers/boards/committees/cabinets retreats & meetings.
  • Support content & graphics of e-communications, direct mail, social media & stewardship information production and timelines for affinity groups in partnership with marketing and the DC&C team.
  • Establish strong partnership with marketing team to draft and ensure high-quality individual engagement marketing materials, commitment forms, letters, etc.
  • Design and implement strategies to assist with the identification, qualification, conversion, solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship of UWGA donors and prospects.
  • Develop creative strategies for identifying and engaging diverse constituencies critical to the organization's fundraising goals.
  • Meet all assigned goals and metrics.
  • Be service-oriented and collaborative in nature.
  • Offer staff support to volunteer members as needed.
  • Utilize the UWGA CRM to track data and ensure data accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years successful experience in an event execution, fundraising, sales and/or account management.

  • Attend and assist with the coordination of evening and weekend events as needed.
  • Ability to innovate, problem solve, and timely follow through with promises or tasks.
  • Work independently and be self-motivated.
