Position Summary
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse is entrusted with the care and management of a designated group of patients during a specified timeframe. Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Exhibits sensitivity and respect for the rights of patients and their families, as recognized within the institution.
- Understands and applies safety protocols as mandated by the institution.
- Possesses knowledge of legal considerations pertinent to patient care and departmental operations, aiming to mitigate risks to both patients and the organization.
- Demonstrates proficiency in designated psychomotor skills.
- Communicates effectively through verbal, non-verbal, and written channels.
- Applies mathematical concepts necessary for medication administration and equipment calibration, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Licensure and Certifications
- Registered Nurse license from KSBN; a multistate license valid in Kansas is acceptable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of employment.
- Additional certifications such as RQI, CPR, or ACLS may be required based on departmental needs.
