Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician II to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to our patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate identification and documentation.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, maintaining a smooth and efficient flow of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in hourly patient rounding, responding to patient needs and concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.
  • Contribute to a safe and clean environment, maintaining patient rooms and work areas, and adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including precepting and mentoring new team members.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Maryland state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) required.
  • One (1) year of previous experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
