Role Overview:
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals and ensuring the well-being of patients. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Preparing patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Utilizing electronic health record systems to document patient information accurately.
  • Assisting in the ordering of necessary medical supplies and laboratory tests.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and their families regarding care and treatment plans.
  • Supporting nursing staff in various patient care tasks, including but not limited to assisting with mobility and personal hygiene.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized treatment area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that may include lifting and prolonged standing.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing education and training.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant is required.
