Overview:


The Early Childhood Educator is tasked with overseeing the well-being of children in a childcare environment while aiding in the execution of educational programs.

This role involves managing classroom requirements and maintaining open lines of communication with both management and colleagues.

The Early Childhood Educator supports children's learning processes and ensures their overall health and safety within the classroom setting.


Responsibilities:
Engage directly with children in a dynamic educational atmosphere.

Collaborate with team members to design and implement activities.

Facilitate opportunities for children's creative growth.

Organize and prepare educational materials, ensuring a tidy environment afterward.

Conduct activities both indoors and outdoors as appropriate.

Adhere to childcare guidelines as outlined in company policies and procedures.

Assist children in developing learning strategies.

Maintain a professional appearance suitable for a childcare setting.

Foster communication with colleagues and management.

Ensure daily cleaning and sanitization of toys and classrooms.

Additional responsibilities may include tasks in the kitchen, front desk, or other classroom areas as needed.

Qualifications:
Requirements -• Must exhibit strong organizational skills

  • Must possess the ability to recognize and remember names and faces
  • Must greet parents and children warmly, maintaining a positive demeanor in daily interactions
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and sensitivity to evolving situations and needs
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to empathize with children
  • TB testing required bi-annually
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications – updated every one to two years
  • Complete a minimum of 5 hours of documented training annually relevant to the Early Childhood Education field and/or position requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) college units is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and/or childcare experience will be considered.
  • Education and/or experience that aligns with the ability to collaborate effectively with children of diverse ages.

Compensation:
$22.10 per hour

*Shift Differential: Non-exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Please note that the work environment may include exposure to cigarette smoke, despite air filtration systems in place.
