Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive and seamless experience throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients in a professional and welcoming manner, assessing their needs and ensuring their expectations are exceeded.
  • Efficiently update and verify patient demographics, insurance, and contact information, and assist patients in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing needs.
  • Thoughtfully direct patients on next steps and inform them about delays and wait times.
  • Promptly schedule appointments utilizing provider templates and scheduling guidelines.
  • Proactively request payments from patients on current and past medical services.
  • Receives and processes those payments following appropriate procedures for handling payments.
  • Support administrative functions of the clinic, working reports, addressing patient concerns, and performing paperwork.
  • Willingly coordinate with other care teams and employees to provide a seamless experience for patients.
Requirements
  • Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of customer service experience, especially in a hospital or medical office.
  • Problem-solving ability, analytical skills, self-motivated, and able to work well in a clinic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
