Position Summary:
The Security Services Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the premises, clients, visitors, and staff from potential threats, including criminal activities, fire hazards, trespassing, and other emergencies. This role involves upholding the standards of conduct for all individuals on site and assisting in the enforcement of organizational policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the facility.
- Complete necessary training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Conduct thorough patrols of all facilities, including parking areas and perimeter checks, to deter theft, vandalism, and fire risks.
- Monitor and manage 'Park and Ride' vehicles, issuing warnings and coordinating with towing services as necessary.
- Provide escort services for employees to parking areas upon request.
- Investigate and document any unusual incidents reported by clients, visitors, or staff.
- Prepare detailed incident reports in accordance with established policies.
- Oversee the functionality of security systems and promptly report any issues to management.
- Enter work requests for maintenance as required.
- Respond to all calls from the support team.
- Assist in client restraint when necessary.
- Report any safety and security hazards to management.
- Conduct regular inspections of doors, windows, and locks throughout the facilities.
- Inspect fire safety equipment and other assigned property.
- Facilitate and evaluate fire drills, completing necessary documentation.
- Ensure the safety of clients, visitors, staff, and facilities during emergencies.
- Perform safety assessments of main buildings and submit work requests for any necessary repairs.
- Conduct biannual vehicle safety assessments and collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to address any required repairs.
- Issue ID/Access Badges for new employees and maintain supply levels.
- Execute job responsibilities in alignment with the standards and policies set forth by the organization and applicable laws.
- Participate in mandatory training sessions and staff meetings.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- Occasionally serve as a mentor for new Security Guards.
- Manage the monthly security schedule, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with training requirements.
- Collaborate with the Environment of Care Committee to ensure policies are effectively implemented within the organization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience in a security role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to an insured vehicle.
