Horticulture Technician - Cultivation Facility

Position Overview

This role is essential for executing daily farming operations within the cultivation department, aimed at meeting weekly production goals in cannabis cultivation. The Horticulture Technician will engage in their responsibilities with professionalism and a commitment to safety, reporting directly to the Farm Lead and Farm Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks & Duties:

- Responsible for a variety of farming activities in a large-scale cannabis cultivation environment. Duties may include planting, transferring plants at various growth stages, harvesting, and maintaining cleanliness within the cultivation area.

- Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure proficiency in assigned tasks, which may involve various physical positions, lifting, and data reporting to support cultivation maintenance.

- Expected to perform all tasks accurately, safely, and in compliance with established protocols. This includes maintaining cleanliness and organization in all work areas and equipment.

- Additional responsibilities may include assisting other departments with supplemental tasks, such as production and post-harvest activities, as needed.

Training and Development:

- Follow guidance and training from the Farm Lead and/or Supervisor assigned to the cultivation facility. Active participation in training is essential to achieve consistent and compliant cultivation practices.

- Engage in training related to the company’s mission and leadership development initiatives.

- Gain an understanding of compliant operations within the cultivation framework, adhering to state laws and regulations.

Maintenance of Workspace and Equipment:

- Responsible for the upkeep of the cultivation area and reporting any equipment malfunctions to leadership.

- Proper utilization of tools and supplies provided, with a responsibility to report any operational issues.

- Ensure sanitation and maintenance of cultivation equipment and areas as directed.

- Communicate any plant health concerns to the Farm Manager for appropriate action and analysis.

Compliance and Documentation:

- Adhere to instructions from farm leadership to uphold current laws and regulations governing the cultivation facility. Adapt to any updates in regulations to maintain high-quality standards and operational efficiency.

- Assist in organizing and securing all necessary documentation and harvest records.

- Follow leadership directives for updating and tracking all required information in departmental logs and spreadsheets on a daily basis.

- Any compliance or safety discrepancies must be reported and resolved in collaboration with appropriate leadership.

Supervision:

- Operate under the direct supervision of the Farm Lead and Supervisor.

- Expected to comply with all company policies and procedures.

Working Environment:

- Capable of using computers and hand tools while standing or sitting for extended periods.

- Ability to navigate an indoor agricultural and manufacturing environment, characterized by a fast-paced atmosphere and warmer conditions, while wearing protective clothing.

- Physical requirements include kneeling, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion.

- Consistent attendance is required for all scheduled shifts, with readiness for a full workweek and potential overtime as necessary to meet production goals.
