Role Overview
This position entails executing daily responsibilities related to agricultural tasks within the cultivation department to meet weekly goals in cannabis production. The technician must engage in their duties with professionalism and adherence to safety protocols. This role reports directly to the Farm Lead and the Farm Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Tasks and Duties:
- Responsible for executing various agricultural tasks in a large-scale cannabis cultivation environment. Duties may encompass plant care, lifecycle management, harvesting, and maintaining cleanliness within the cultivation area to support ongoing production workflows.
- Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure proficiency in assigned tasks, which may involve a range of physical activities, including lifting, sitting, and data reporting to maintain cultivation standards.
- Expected to complete tasks efficiently, accurately, and safely while adhering to compliance regulations. Consistent participation throughout scheduled shifts is required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas, equipment, and materials within the cultivation facility.
- Additional responsibilities may include assisting other departments with supplementary tasks, such as production and post-harvest activities, cleaning, and light maintenance as necessary.
Training and Development:
- This role will follow guidance and training from the Farm Lead and/or Supervisor assigned to the cultivation facility. Active engagement in training is essential to achieve consistent and compliant cultivation practices.
- Training will also cover the company’s mission and leadership development.
- Understanding and adhering to state laws and regulations governing cultivation operations is crucial.
Maintenance of Workspace and Equipment:
- Responsible for the upkeep of the cultivation area and reporting any equipment malfunctions.
- Proper utilization of provided equipment and supplies is required, with immediate reporting of any operational issues to leadership.
- Responsible for sanitizing and maintaining cultivation tools and areas as instructed.
- Communicate any plant health concerns to the Farm Manager for appropriate attention and analysis.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Follow directives from farm leadership to uphold current laws and regulations within the cultivation facility. Adapt to any updates in regulations to ensure safe and effective practices that meet quality standards.
- Assist in organizing and securing all required tags and harvest batches.
- Responsible for updating and tracking necessary information in departmental logs and spreadsheets on a daily basis.
- Any compliance or safety errors must be reported and resolved in coordination with appropriate leadership.
Supervision:
- Operate under the direct supervision of the Farm Lead and Supervisor.
- Expected to adhere to company policies and procedures.
Working Environment:
- Ability to utilize computers and/or hand tools while standing or sitting for extended periods.
- Capable of navigating an indoor agricultural environment, which includes typical manufacturing and warehouse conditions. This role operates in a fast-paced setting, often in warmer conditions, while wearing protective clothing.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop regularly throughout the day.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Consistent punctuality for all scheduled shifts is required, with readiness for a full 40-hour workweek and potential overtime to meet objectives.
