Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a dedicated individual to take on the role of a Full Time / Part Time / Seasonal Senior Facility Maintenance Supervisor within our esteemed organization. This role acts as a pivotal liaison between the Gardens and its visitors.

The selected candidate will oversee the daily operations of the Facility Custodial team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively under the guidance of the Custodial Supervisor.

This position will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of public and service areas, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests, staff, and volunteers.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily operations to guarantee timely and accurate completion of custodial duties.
  • Serve as a role model for staff, demonstrating exemplary work ethic and best practices.
  • Provide daily reports on accomplishments and any issues encountered.
  • Utilize pressure washing equipment to maintain clean and debris-free exterior hardscapes.
  • Report and address safety hazards promptly, adhering to established procedures.
  • Ensure all external grounds are litter-free on a daily basis.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on custodial tasks to confirm satisfactory completion.
  • Exhibit proficiency in floor care techniques and equipment.
  • Assist in the collection and proper disposal of recyclable materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness in public and office spaces, including trash disposal, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning.
  • Participate in snow removal activities as required.
  • Support Facility Custodial Technicians in event setups and other custodial tasks.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented attitude when interacting with members, visitors, and staff.
  • Attend all required on-site meetings.
  • Regular attendance at the workplace is expected.

As with all positions at Denver Botanic Gardens, maintaining good performance standing is essential for eligibility for remote work, which is at management's discretion.


Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as burnishers, floor cleaners, and snow removal tools is preferred.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt plans as necessary throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Must represent Denver Botanic Gardens positively at all times.
  • Commitment to safety and cooperation with colleagues and the public is required.

Experience/Education:

  • A high school diploma or GED, along with relevant experience, is required.
  • A minimum of one year of janitorial or light maintenance experience is necessary.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team is essential.
