Position: Respiratory Therapist

Overview:

The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in assessing and treating patients with respiratory issues. This position involves collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients experiencing respiratory difficulties and perform necessary diagnostic assessments.
  • Work alongside medical staff to formulate and execute individualized treatment strategies.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions and educate patients on the effective use of prescribed medications.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Director of Respiratory Therapy.

Core Duties:

  • Assess lung function and interpret laboratory results.
  • Implement therapy protocols and monitor patient responses.
  • Continuously observe and report on patient status.
  • Review and enhance respiratory care guidelines and practices.
  • Provide immediate assistance during emergency situations.
  • Instruct patients and their families regarding respiratory conditions.
  • Manage inventory and distribution of respiratory care materials.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and storage facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities, sound judgment, and capacity to operate independently.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP).
  • Licensure: Valid and active Respiratory Therapist License in Tennessee.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Night shifts, with shifts exceeding 10 hours and weekend rotations.
