Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our Accounting Department, you will be responsible for assisting in the administration and performance of general accounting activities in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of account analyses and reconciliations.
  • Participate in the preparation of periodic financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement packages.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Administrator as required, and perform monthly bank statement reconciliations.
  • Coordinate business sales and use tax reporting for periodic filing with state government agencies.
  • Maintain fixed assets and appropriations schedules in agreement with the general ledger.
  • Potential for supervision of Accounting Personnel to be determined by experience and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
  • Strong sense of ethics, integrity, and accountability.
  • Accurate and organized, with excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting functions, with experience in a manufacturing environment considered beneficial.
  • Experience with standard cost systems and variance analysis considered beneficial.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, with demonstrable ability to create pivot tables, lookup tables, charts, and graphs.
