Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool Room Technician to join our team at Creative Liquid Coatings, INC. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing injection molds and tooling to ensure efficient production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review production schedules and prioritize mold maintenance activities.
  • Ensure molds are equipped with the correct inserts and are ready for production.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on molds and tooling according to schedule and standard work instructions.
  • Repair and maintain End of Arm tooling and molds within our resource capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of mold and tooling activities, including repairs, maintenance, status, and location.
  • Inspect and process incoming molds, generating necessary data.
  • Prepare outgoing molds for shipment, including exit inspections as required.
  • Communicate mold status and location changes with relevant personnel.
  • Perform planned preventive maintenance on tool room equipment according to standard work instructions.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and equipment care in the tool room.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of tool repair materials and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with process troubleshooting related to tooling.
  • Perform machinist activities for mold and tooling repairs as needed.
  • Participate in internal problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in cost-saving initiatives.
  • Understand and adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and IATF16949 quality system standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic injection mold maintenance, including knowledge of hot runners and valve gate operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mold hydraulic systems and hot runner electrical systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in close-tolerance machining.
  • Basic blueprint reading and metallurgy knowledge.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 quality system standards with emphasis on mold and facilities maintenance.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and system documentation.
  • Effective communication with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records on molds.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate basic algebraic and geometric formulas.
  • Conversion of millimeters to inches and vice versa.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to actively participate in problem-solving activities.
  • Application of logic to carry out instructions.
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate to heavy physical movement and exertion.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds.
Training Requirements
  • Lift Truck operator's license.
  • Chain and crane training.
Overtime Requirements

Must be willing to work extended hours and/or report to work when called to perform mold maintenance activities required for meeting production requirements.
