Position Overview

The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the customer experience by assisting in various culinary activities. This position requires a blend of culinary passion and customer service skills to support our culinary programs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with customers and providing assistance as needed.
  • Support cooking classes by acting as an extension of the instructor, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and actively seek training opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and contribute to the overall success of the store.
  • Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures consistently.
  • Promote additional services such as gift registries and cooking classes to customers.
  • Assist in ingredient shopping, class preparation, and other support tasks as directed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and preparing for classes.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, demonstrating strong verbal and written skills.
  • May assist in beverage preparation, including cocktails and other drinks, as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Resident Chef.

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Capability to remain stationary for extended periods and move throughout the workspace.
  • Ability to distinguish flavors and odors accurately.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and using kitchen equipment.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in using computers and point-of-sale systems.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to safely navigate ladders and handle merchandise weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment and familiarity with food safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in retail sales and kitchen operations.
  • Valid Food Handlers or Food Managers Certification is a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is beneficial.
