Job Description

Frequent travel is required for this position, with up to 75% of time spent in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Based in one of several locations, including Cedar Rapids, Minneapolis, Tulsa, Kansas City, or Cincinnati, this role involves performing final inspections on products applied in the field and providing occasional support to the manufacturing team. Full intensive training is provided.

Essential Functions
  • Perform required service, including training of customer personnel.
  • Work efficiently and maintain the highest level of quality possible.
  • Support the database of inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Contact customers to provide quotes for services required.
  • Travel to customer locations, both domestic and overseas.
  • Complete necessary forms and submit billing worksheets to the Field Service Manager.
  • Provide assistance to the field service manager, production employees, and customers on troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Responsible for performing final inspections on all products in the field.
  • Maintain checklists on final inspection criteria for all products inspected.
  • Resolve quality issues with production.
  • File completed forms and checklists.
  • Provide training to production employees to eliminate quality issues discovered during inspections.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory for field service components.
  • Responsible to ensure that all inventory items are properly accounted for or billed to the customer.
  • Answer and respond to after-hours emergency calls from customers.
  • Work with the production team to perform final inspections of products.
  • Work with the Finance department on field service billing issues.
  • Provide assistance to production as requested.
  • Work with customers on scheduling inspections, maintenance, and resolving technical issues in liaison with the engineering department.
Essential Requirements
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent technical aptitude.
  • Experience dealing with customers and managing expectations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Trade School Certificate or Associate's degree (Technical).
    • Experience: Two (2) plus years of experience in Field Service, of industrial products that include low voltage electrical circuits. Greater experience an advantage.
