About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Veterinary Operating Room Assistant to join our team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with department supervisors to ensure adequate sterile supplies for daily case loads
  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, sterilize, and distribute surgical supplies and equipment to appropriate areas
  • Disinfect and set up surgical suites
  • Use steam and ETO sterilizers
  • Maintain equipment and inspect instruments
  • Control inventory and monitor expiration dates on sterile equipment and supplies
  • Test autoclaves and report results
  • Disinfect linens for use in the OR
  • Schedule detailed cleaning tasks of equipment, ORs, and packroom to maintain proper cleanliness standards of a surgical area
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, influential, and organizational skills
  • Ability to show initiative and prioritize workloads under stressful situations
  • Motivated to work independently and in team settings
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, processing, and sterilization is preferred
  • CRCST/CBSPD and/or experience in a veterinary specialty surgical service preferred but not required
