Your Role
As a Laser Technician at Areté, you will play a crucial role in the assembly of AIRTRAC lasers, which involves constructing optical systems. This position requires expertise in handling optics and the application of various adhesives while collaborating with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to design, develop, test, and manufacture lasers. Your responsibilities will encompass the precise tuning and alignment of optical components and lasers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently or under the guidance of an electrical or optical engineer, you will engage in the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of both developmental and production electronic and optical systems.
  • Set up and operate complex optical equipment, either independently or under the supervision of an optical engineer.
  • Conduct optical measurements and testing to support laser alignment, fabrication, and performance assessments.

Qualifications
  • Familiarity with electronic and optical testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, power meters, optical sensors, spectrometers, cameras, lasers, and detectors.
  • Proficient in producing professional documentation and thoroughly recording setups and testing outcomes.
  • AA/AS in a Technical or Engineering field or equivalent relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Strong communication skills.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $65,000, with considerations for various factors such as position responsibilities, work experience, education, and key skills.

Additional Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet the criteria for access to classified information. A successful criminal background check and Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test are also required for eligibility.
