Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at MJ Care Inc. as a School-Based Occupational Therapy Professional. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to children with exceptional educational needs in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy programs to meet the needs of students with exceptional educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to ensure that occupational therapy services are integrated into the educational program.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students' strengths and weaknesses, and develop individualized plans to address their needs.
  • Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions, and consultation with teachers and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including progress notes, evaluation reports, and IEP documents.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other educational team meetings to ensure that occupational therapy services are aligned with the student's educational goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in occupational therapy and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Experience working with children with exceptional educational needs in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions

The Occupational Therapist will work in a school setting, providing services to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and other educational environments. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

The Occupational Therapist will be required to maintain accurate records and reports, and to participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel, and will be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
