Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement occupational therapy programs that meet the unique needs of students with exceptional educational needs.
    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to ensure that occupational therapy services are integrated into the educational program.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students to identify their occupational therapy needs.
    • Develop and implement individualized plans to address the occupational therapy needs of students.
  • Service Delivery
    • Provide occupational therapy services to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and other educational environments.
    • Collaborate with other school personnel to ensure that occupational therapy services are provided in a way that is consistent with the educational program.
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and occupational therapy services provided.
    • Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to ensure that occupational therapy services are integrated into the educational program.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Experience
    • At least 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a school setting.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
    • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Working Conditions

The Occupational Therapist - Schools will work in a variety of educational settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and other educational environments. The position requires the ability to lift and move students, as well as to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
