Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for all food production and maintaining food quality and sanitation standards. You will manage personnel and inventory to ensure the timely and high-quality execution of our menu for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute daily specials, soups, and nightly dinner specials with the Chef.
  • Ensure each station is scheduled appropriately for both the expected volume of business and staff proficiency.
  • Maintain the highest sanitary standards, enforce Idaho food code, and hold a ServSafe manager certification.
  • Maintain proficiency in all stations and ensure staff is trained appropriately for their specific role.
  • Organize walk-ins, cover dates, and store leftover products neatly.
  • Ensure assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary during shifts.
  • Maintain consistent ticket times and plate presentations.
  • Notify the Chef of expected shortages.
  • Supervise daily production of food, cost of food, and labor.
  • Maintain portion and quality control of the food menu.
  • Maintain a neat professional appearance and observe personal cleanliness rules at all times.
  • Supervise all other day and night kitchen employees.
  • Interact with the General Manager, Assistant Manager, Bar Manager, and wait staff to ensure food production consistently exceeds guest expectations.
  • Motivate and positively lead staff by example.
  • Manage conflict by open and fair problem-solving approaches.
Requirements
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Previous prep or line cook experience.
